Tennessee Veterinary Renewals

All of our locations in Tennessee require a Veterinary Premise License. The fee is $370 every two years. Four of our premises are due now ($1,480 total). However, we have received only one notice because the Board cannot seem to grasp the concept of a mailing address. When I called to tell them that we did not receive the other three notices, I was advise they only send one copy and cannot send another. In years past, I have spoken to the Director about this. Sadly, I have to go over the head of the flunky that answered the phone and go to the Director to get something so simple as another copy of a sent.

Oklahoma is full of idiots!

The Oklahoma Tax Commission rejected my Power of Attorney for ADP. They say they need the name of a specific individual! ADP probably has hundreds of employees that may deal with this problem. I contacted ADP and they informed me they would assign a specific person to deal with the problem and contact me with their name. That way, I can do yet another Power of Attorney and send it to ADP. I suppose I will have to do this all over again when OK looses paperwork in the future.

Payroll Transition

I find that payroll is an incredibly complex and cumbersome process. It does not have to be so – I should simply be allowed to pay my employees their hourly rate multiplied by the number of hours worked. Sadly, gun wielding goons from the government will shut our business down if we do not act as tax collector.

Since the process is so time consuming, I have decided to switch back to Quickbooks payroll service. They are the lesser of two evils (compared to ADP). Of course, this process requires that Quickbooks gets their share of government forms. Today, I filled out and faxed everything that I have available for this purpose.
